As tensions escalate in Israel following a barrage of rocket attacks from Iran, Bulgarian expatriate Rina Bakalov shares her harrowing experience of waiting anxiously for hours as rockets flew towards the country.

Maria Bakalova becomes part of the Marvel universe. The Bulgarian will take part in "Guardians of the Galaxy 3".

The actress confirmed the news and wrote:

Maria Bakalova, who became the first Bulgarian actress nominated for an Oscar, received the honorary title "Ambassador for Destination Bulgaria" at a meeting with Bulgaria's caretaker Minister of Tourism Stela Baltova.

Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova will receive an honorary Askeer Award as a rising international star and ambassador of Bulgarian acting. The decision was made public on Thursday by the Bulgarian theatre awards foundation through its media partner, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

The US Motion Picture Academy on Monday confirmed its nomination list for the 93rd Oscars Awards, which includes two movies from southeastern European countries competing in the category of Best International Feature Film. A Bulgarian actress has also been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award.

Maria Bakalova was ecstatic on Sunday when she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2021 Critics' Choice Awards.

The 24-year-old Bulgarian actress had been praised by critics and audiences alike for her hilarious turn in the movie, which marked her American film debut.

The Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova won an award at the London Critics' Circle. Bakalova was named supporting actress of the year for her role in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Guardian reported.

Maria Bakalova was nominated alongside Ellen Burstyn (Pieces of a Woman) and Amanda Seyfried (Mank).
