French dance star fuses tradition, reform as head of Russian troupe
French dance star Laurent Hilaire, the new artistic director of Moscow's renowned Stanislavsky Music Theatre ballet troupe, has vowed to expand its repertoire while preserving its rich traditions.
"This is an opera and ballet house with a certain history, culture and tradition," Hilaire, who took on the position in January, told AFP during a recent interview.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo to premier in Belgrade
BELGRADE - All male drag ballet corps Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo from New York, which is known for portraying classical ballet in a humorous style, will premier in Serbia in Belgrade's Theatre on Terazije on Sunday.
The corps will perform Swan Lake, Paquita and the Dying Swan.
Trockadero is also scheduled to perform in Novi Sad in the Serbian National Theatre.
National Theatre to feature at Mexican festival
BELGRADE - The ballet company of the National Theatre in Belgrade will perform the play Alexander at Mexico's Cervantino International Festival on October 23-24, the Serbian national theatre announced on Tuesday.
The play has been included in the main programme of Mexico's most prestigious festival, to be held in the historic city of Guanajuato, near Mexico City, on October 8-26.

National Theatre ends successful season
BELGRADE - The 2013/14 season was very good for the National Theatre, and we can feel proud and satisfied because all planned ballet, drama and opera premieres were performed, the Acting Director of the National Theatre in Belgrade Dejan Savic has said.

Kostyukov awarded Terpsichore Prize on Int'l Dance Day
BELGRADE - Ballet dancer and choreographer Konstantin Kostyukov received the Terpsichore Prize on Tuesday at a ceremony organised by the Serbian Association of Professional Ballet Dancers, Choreographers and Pedagogues at the Museum of the National Theatre in Belgrade to mark the International Dance Day.
