National Theatre to feature at Mexican festival

BELGRADE - The ballet company of the National Theatre in Belgrade will perform the play Alexander at Mexico's Cervantino International Festival on October 23-24, the Serbian national theatre announced on Tuesday.

The play has been included in the main programme of Mexico's most prestigious festival, to be held in the historic city of Guanajuato, near Mexico City, on October 8-26.

Alexander, a ballet play by choreographer/director Ronald Savkovic, has passed a preliminary selection of plays from all over the world that included the most renowned music and drama theatres, and will be performed at the Cervantino Festival on October 23-24.

The ballet company of the National Theatre will also perform in three other cities - Acapulco, Guadalajara and Merida - with a total of six performances in Mexico booked for the period between October 19 and November 1.

Alexander premiered at the National Theatre in Belgrade on November 15, 2011.
