According to British military intelligence, the total number of Russian soldiers killed and wounded in the Ukraine war has surpassed 610,000 since the conflict began.

In recent weeks, however, everything has changed in the sky above Avdiivka - a former Ukrainian stronghold northwest of occupied Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, Forbes writes.

Russian occupiers have captured the completely destroyed city of Marinka, reported a number of Russian and Ukrainian military bloggers.

They refer to a publication by Nikolai Voroshnov, an air intelligence officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Marinka has fallen, the Kurakhove fortress awaits us soon," he wrote on his Facebook profile.
