Struggling Beşiktaş eyes consolation in Europe

 

Beşiktaş eyes its first Champions League win of the season when it hosts Ajax on Nov. 24 in Istanbul, hoping to end its recent slump.

The defending Turkish Süper Lig champion has lost all its four games so far in Group C, sitting at the bottom of the group with a 10-goal difference. The club has also won just twice in its last eight league games.

Beşiktaş set to start Champions League campaign at home

Beşiktaş, Turkey's sole representer in the European club football's showpiece event, launches its Champions League campaign on Sept. 15 at home against Borussia Dortmund.

A painting museum on the shores of Istanbul's Bosphorus is home to an Ottoman palace painting collection that continues to draw visitors despite the pandemic.

Following a multi-year restoration project, the National Palaces Painting Museum in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district was reopened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in January.
