Bear cub gets window on world with help of Turkish vets
A visually impaired bear cub is showing improvement after treatment by dedicated Turkish veterinarians, and now can partially see for the first time, his doctors said on Oct. 17.
The eight-month-old bear cub, named Turkuaz, was taken into special care at the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Karacabey in Bursa, northwestern Turkey. His sight has been impaired since birth.
130 bears culled this year in Slovenia

Two rescued bears head for US from crisis-hit Lebanon
Two endangered Syrian brown bears were headed to a new life in the United States on July 18 after being rescued from cramped conditions in a Lebanese zoo, two charities said.
Homer and Ulysses, each aged 18 and weighing 130 kilos, had been living in a zoo near the southern city of Tyre, animal rights association Animals Lebanon said.
Shelter feeds over 70 bears with special program
The Ovakorusu Bear Shelter, established in 1994 in the northwestern province of Bursa, has implemented a special program to take of the nutritional needs of 72 bears under its protection.
According to their age and weight, bears are provided with appropriate nutrition requirements that include mostly fresh fruits, kibbles and bread in summers.

Last dancer bear Brütüs surviving in Ovakorusu Shelter
