Vucevic: Natural resources a guarantee of Serbia's independence

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic said on Wednesday his government and President Aleksandar Vucic were safeguarding national interests, rather than the interests of private companies and other countries, and noted that, above all, he saw natural resources as an opportunity for economic strengthening and a guarantee of Serbia's independence.

Ragus meets with Spanish ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy Parliament Speaker Marina Ragus, who also heads the Committee on Foreign Affairs, met with the Spanish Ambassador to Belgrade Juan Jose Sanz Aparicio on Tuesday.

The parties agreed that advancement of parliamentary relations and cooperation at all levels was in the interest of both states.

Tourist visits in Serbia up by 16.9 pct y-o-y in May

BELGRADE - Serbia registered 16.9 pct more tourist visits in May 2024 relative to the same month of last year and the number of overnight stays was up by 14.0 pct y-o-y, according to figures released by the national statistical office.

Overnight stays generated by Serbian tourists were up by 7.0 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 23.1 pct y-o-y.
