Epic poem honoring Sultan Mehmet II found in Italian library
Ankara Social Sciences University academic Filiz Barın Akman and academic-writer Beyazıt Akman have discovered an epic poem in Latin with approximately 5,000 lines written by an Italian poet in honor of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet II, known as Mehmed the Conqueror, during the Renaissance era.
Turkey's 1st national library keeps up with digital era
The Beyazıt Public Library in Istanbul is working on a project worth 3.5 million Turkish Liras ($419,470) to digitalize its vast body of resources, the library's deputy director said March 30.
The Beyazıt Library is the oldest public library in Turkey which opened on June 24, 1884, by a decree of Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid II.

Ottoman Health Museum opens after renovation
Trakya University's European Museum Award-winning Sultan Bayezid II Külliye (social complex) Health Museum, located in the northwestern province of Edirne, has reopened after a one-and-a-half year restoration process. The restoration, sponsored by Turkish drug company Abdi ?brahim, had a cost of 2 million Turkish Liras.
