New Cheap Plovdiv-Birmingham Route to Begin in November
A new route will soon link Plovdiv and Birmingham, enhancing travel options between the second largest cities of Bulgaria and the UK. Ryanair has announced that it will operate direct flights between the two cities, with the inaugural flight scheduled for November 2 this year. One-way tickets for the new service start at 35 euros.
Makedonia Airport prepares for 15 new flights
Low-fare carrier Wizz Air and Fraport Greece, which manages Thessaloniki's airport, have agreed the Hungarian airline will begin three new flights per week between Thessaloniki and Vienna, while Qatar Airways will soon launch a service linking Makedonia Airport with Doha.

Private jet skids off runway at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport leaving four injured
A private jet crashed while making an emergency landing on Sept. 21 at Istanbul Atatürk International Airport and burst into flames, leaving four injured, officials said.
The incident forced the temporary closure of Istanbul's main international airport, which later reopened for passengers.
Sofia Airport Reports 14 % Increase in Passenger Numbers in Jan-Feb 2016
The number of passengers passing through the airport in the Bulgarian capital increased by 14 % in the first two months of this year.
A total of 641 807 people were serviced at Sofia airport, daily Dnevnik informs.
