Numerous protesters were arrested for defying a curfew in Baltimore May 1 night, hours after six police were charged over the death of an African-American man who was in their custody.
  
The protesters struck a defiant chord with police, even after the six officers were charged earlier in the day over the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray.

The troubled US community of Ferguson, Missouri, scene of months of protests and racial tension, was on a knife edge again on March 12 after two police officers were shot.
      
Police launched a manhunt, raiding a brick bungalow four blocks from the Ferguson police station and municipal court where the shooting occurred amid a late-night demonstration Wednesday.
      

Thessaloniki woman shoots brother over money dispute

A 42-year-old woman shot her younger brother in front of the apartment block in Evosmos, western Thessaloniki, where the man lives in an argument over financial dispute.

The 41-year-old was hospitalized for treatment to minor injuries sustained from the shooting while his sister faced charges of attempted manslaughter and illegal weapons possession.
