BELGRADE - The Serbian government on Thursday instructed the relevant public enterprises to start the reconstruction of damaged roads and bridges within the next seven days, appointing Marko Blagojevic as head of the Office for reconstruction and aid for the flooded regions.

Opposition leader says corruption case is "political"

BELGRADE -- The decision to detain Aleksandar Bijelić "confirms this is a political process in order to criminalize me, my environment and the whole Democratic Party."

This is according to Dragan Đilas, former Belgrade mayor and leader of the opposition Democratic Party (DS).

BELGRADE - Aleksandar Bijelic, former Belgrade city manager, and Marko Blagojevic, former director of the Investment Agency, and five more persons were taken in for questioning before the commercial crime department of the city police on suspicion of involvement in malfeasance in reconstruction of King Aleksandar Boulevard.
