Kosmos radio station invites you to a lively celebration of jazz on June 1, at Gazarte (34 Voutadon) featuring DJs and a live performance by Rosey Blue. Known for her unique voice, Athens-based Rosey Blue will perform with six musicians, blending blues, jazz, Motown soul and garage rock. The event promises a groovy atmosphere that will get you in the mood for dancing. Admission is free.

Greece's most authentic Chicago blues band, Blues Cargo, is teaming up with renowned bluesman Michael Dotson at the Half Note Jazz Club (17 Trivonianou, Mets). Hailing from Chicago, Dotson is known for his high-energy "house-rockin' blues," delivering a raw blend of shuffles and boogies deeply rooted in tradition.

Angela Brown | Athens | February 1-4

Blues diva Angela Brown takes the stage at the Half Note - with Christian Rannenberg on piano and "Detroit" Gary Wiggins on saxophone - with popular tunes and Chicago standards from February 1 to 4. Doors open at 10.30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9.30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday. Tickets cost 20, 25 and 30 euros and can be booked by phone.

Rory Gallagher Tribute | Athens | December 22

Band of Friends - Gerry McAvoy on bass guitar, Ted McKenna on drums and Marcel Scherpenzeel on guitar and vocals - is on tour with a tribute to the great Irish blues and rock musician Rory Gallagher (1948-1995). Belfast-born McAvoy played with Gallagher from 1970 to 1991 and in 2005 wrote a book about the experience.

Nellie 'Tiger' Travis | Athens | December 7-10

Chicago blues legend Nellie "Tiger" Travis takes the stage of the Half Note from December 7 to 10, accompanied by local band, Blues Cargo. Hailed for her husky voice and explosive delivery, Travis will perform contemporary blues and Southern soul. Shows start at 10.30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9.30 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
