Since the early days of aviation, there has always been a sense of prestige associated with staying in the air for longer periods, traveling farther, and offering passengers more comfort to help them pass the time.

Boeing is expected to face a bruising once-over Wednesday as company critics testify at a U.S. Senate hearing, including an employee who has characterized the top-selling 787 as prone to disaster.

Federal aviation authorities are investigating claims by a Boeing engineer that the 787 Dreamliner suffers from assembly defects that threaten safety, U.S. officials have said.

Attorneys for the whistleblower, Sam Salehpour, accuse the company of putting profit over safety, and retaliating against him after he raised concerns by "involuntarily" transferring him to the 777 program.

Several of them were transported to the hospital after landing.
The incident happened around 16:00 local time, and numerous emergency teams waited for the passengers on the runway after landing in Auckland.
According to officials, at least one person is in serious condition.
It is a flight of LATAM Airlines Group.

A mid-air emergency in which a piece of fuselage came off a Boeing 737 MAX 9 jetliner as it flew over the U.S. west coast dealt a new blow to the oft-beleaguered manufacturer.

However, the consequences for Boeing are expected to be limited.

On Saturday the Federal Aviation Administration ordered the grounding of 171 planes of that model so they can be inspected.

Boeing reported a larger-than-expected loss as it trimmed its full-year forecast for deliveries of the 737 to address a manufacturing problem on the aircraft.

The U.S. aviation giant, which has struggled with manufacturing and quality control issues in recent years, reported a third-quarter loss of $1.6 billion, compared with a loss of $3.3 billion in the year-ago period.

Boeing has said that production and delivery of a "significant number" of its 737 Max planes could be delayed because of questions about a supplier's work on the fuselages.

Turkish Airlines has received a new airplane, expanding its fleet, Bilal Ekşi, the CEO of the flag carrier has announced.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner joined the company's fleet on Dec. 31.

"In 2003, we had 65 airplanes. Now we are entering 2023 with 393 airplanes," Ekşi wrote on Twitter.

Boeing called for the grounding of 128 of its 777 planes around the world on Feb. 21 as U.S. regulators investigated a United Airlines flight whose engine caught fire and fell apart over a suburban American city.
