Police destroy explosive device outside precinct in Zografou

Members of the Greek Police's (ELAS) bomb disposal unit on Monday used a controlled explosion to destroy a homemade explosive device that was found outside a police precinct in Zografou, eastern Athens. 

The device had been placed inside a metal pipe which was inside a box placed on a wall opposite the precinct. It contained nails and had a timer, according to police sources. 

Gas stations targeted in northern Athens

Police in northern Athens on Thursday were seeking the perpetrators behind a blast at a gas station in Glyka Nera.
The attack at 4.30 a.m., which is believed to have been carried out using dynamite, left a crater in the ground in front of the gas station but caused no injuries.
Bomb disposal experts transferred the remnants of the device to the police's forensics department.

Hand grenade found near Menidi school

A hand grenade found in Menidi, northern Athens, on Saturday was removed from the area by officers of the Hellenic Army's specialist bomb disposal unit while police launched an investigation into its provenance.
The grenade was found on the corner of Liosion and Aristotelous streets, near a primary school, police said.
It was to be examined by forensic experts.

15,000 People Were Evacuated in Hanover Because of a World War II Aerial Bomb

Nearly 15,000 people were evacuated Monday night in the German city of Hanover due to a World War II aerial bomb disposal operation, BTA reported.

The 500-pound projectile was discovered on a construction site.

According to estimates, at the end of World War II, over 2 million bombs of different caliber were thrown over Hitler's Germany. 10-20% of them never exploded.

A World War II Bomb Was Discovered near Kremlin

The dangerous find was found in the construction work on the slope of the Mysterious Garden

"A World War II bomb was discovered and defused in the Kremlin, causing the activities of archaeologists and journalists in the large Kremlin garden to be halted," Kremlin commander Sergei Khlebnikov told media today, TASS and BTA quoted.

Acropolis metro station open again after ‘suspicious’ suitcase cleared

Service between Syntagma and the Acropolis station on the Athens metro has resumed as bomb disposal experts gave the all clear after examining a "suspicious" suitcase.

The abandoned suitcase was spotted at the Acropolis metro station earlier in the day, prompting metro authorities to close the station and call in bomb experts to assess the situation.

Athens metro suspended between Acropolis and Syntagma due to suspect bag

Authorities suspended Athens metro services on the section between Acropolis and Syntagma stations on Tuesday due to a suitcase at the former station that was deemed to be suspicious.

Officers of the Greek Police's bomb disposal unit were dispatched to the scene.

Services were suspended shortly before 3 p.m.
 

Parliament shut down after bomb threat called in

Police on Friday morning shut down Parliament and cordoned off the area around it after a bomb threat was made by an anonymous caller.

The caller phoned the offices of the Zougla.gr news website, saying that explosive devices had been placed "inside and outside Parliament."

"There will be victims. Beware," the caller reportedly threatened.

Police units at ND leader's office after bomb threat call

Police officers and a bomb disposal unit were searching the office of main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday evening after someone call in a bomb threat.

Greek media said the threat came in around 6.45 p.m, prompting authorities to cordon off the area around the ND leader's office on 7 Efroniou street, in the central Athenisn district of Pangrati.
