Huge blast rocks building block in Exarchia, Athens (photos-video)

An improvised explosive device (IED) went off at 112 Ippokratous St, in Exarchia, in downtown Athens, Wednesday, at 11.45pm causing material damage. The blast occurred in the main entrance of a building block where “Elefhteri Skeci” bookstore is located which had come under attack in 2008 with petrol bombs.

Assailants firebomb central Athens police station

A group of around 40 people threw close to a dozen Molotov cocktails at the Exarchia police precinct in central Athens on Sunday afternoon.

The raid caused damage but no injuries. Some of the perpetrators were also armed with sledgehammers, which they used to attack the guard post outside the police station and three parked cars.

Bomb-laden car halted in southeast Turkey's Diyarbak?r

A vehicle laden with 500kg of explosives, Kalashnikov rifles and ammunition, was apprehended by gendarmerie officials in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r late on Feb. 18, the Governor's Office has stated, just two days after a car bomb targeting military personnel shuttles killed 28 in the capital Ankara. 

Unknown individuals throw Molotov cocktails at Greek State Minister’s house

Unknown individuals on Friday midnight threw about ten Molotov cocktails at the house of Greek State Minister Alekos Flambouraris.

Two cars parked outside the house of the minister were burned, while a window and the front door were also damaged.

Fire Service rushed to the point and put out the fire.

Hooded assailants bombed Turkish consulate in Thessaloniki

The Turkish Consulate in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, was attacked in the early hours of Friday orning by 25 hooded assailants that hurled around 15 Molotov cocktails at the guard post.

The attack occurred at 3.20 a.m. outside the consulate’s premises on Agiou Dimitriou Street. No injuries had been reported. Damage was only superficial and to the building’s façade.
