Bulgaria's Public Financial Inspection Establishes 19 Violations in 20 EU-Funded Projects

After inspecting twenty contracts on EU-funded projects in 2014, the Public Financial Inspection Agency has established violations in nineteen of them, BGNES reported.

The information became evident through a letter addressed from Director of the agency, Ventsislav Georgiev to the Bulgarian Parliament, sent on April 20.

Russian Ambassador: South Stream Was 'Gift' to Bulgaria

Russia's Ambassador to Bulgaria Yuriy Isakov has said the construction of South Stream was "a happy development" Bulgaria should have fought for.

"No-one offers gifts like that... [gifts] like South Stream," the website Dnevnik.bg quotes him as answering to a question during an official reception on Thursday evening.

Bulgaria's Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov became father of a boy on Saturday.

The news first appeared on PM Boyko Borisov's official Facebook page.

"We have the first baby in the government," Borisov wrote. "The Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov today became father of a boy and treated us on the happy occasion. May the entire family be healthy!"

GERB Struggles to Assemble Allies in Bulgaria

Boyko Borisov's GERB party is struggling to assemble a working majority in parliament after winning most votes in Bulgaria's general elections on October 5.

Rumen Yonchev, from Bulgaria without Censorship, said his centrist coalition will offer "preliminary support" to the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB.
