President Rumen Radev met with the representative of the manufacturer of the new combat aircraft for the Bulgarian army.

Servicemen with the Romanian Land and Air Forces will be present at the NATO Days, due to take place Friday through Sunday, in Ostrava, in the Czech Republic, the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) informs in a release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.

Joint Bulgarian-American training with the participation of the Special Forces of the Bulgarian Army and the Army Air Force formed by the US Army in Europe will continue from August 19 to 25 in our country. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense's Public Relations Directorate.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Defence published a BGN5.8 million (USD3.3 million) tender on 29 July for the modernisation of the Bulgarian Air Force's (BuAF's) Bezmer Air Base, 250 km east of Sofia, under the NATO Security Investment Programme (NSIP).

The first F-16 Block 70 aircraft for the Bulgarian Air Force will be produced in December 2022, the manufacturer-company Lockheed Martin and the United States Embassy in Bulgaria announced. This aircraft will train Bulgarian pilots.

The F-16 Block 70 fighter will have full combat capabilities, said Lockheed Martin International Business Development Director Jim Robinson.

At a press conference, representatives of the US company and the US Embassy in Bulgaria gave details about the production, delivery, capabilities of the aircraft, as well as the benefits to Bulgaria of the strategic partnership.

A foreign soldier has died this night in the NATO-dry run "Swift Response 19". The incident near Cheshnegirovo Air Base, was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense, informs the Bulgarian National Radio.

Bulgarian delegation composedof representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and experts from the Bulgarian Air Forces begin negotiations in the USA for the acquisition of 8 multi-role F-16 fighter jets.

Aircrafts and helicopters of the Bulgarian Air Forces perform training flights for the military parade, which will take place on 6th of May, the Day of Valour and the Bulgarian Army, reports BNT.
