This was the first time that Radev, who ran successfully twice as an independent candidate supported by Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP, has participated in the event.

President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Yotova were sworn in for their second term at a solemn ceremony in the National Assembly.

The two, as well as all officials present in the plenary hall, were welcomed by a representative guard company at the central entrance of the National Assembly.

"Today we are electing a government that will have the difficult task of bringing Bulgaria out of severe crises. We understand the responsibility and will share it. Today is the end of time for slogans and empty promises," the chairman of the parliamentary group of "There Is Such a People" Victoria Vasileva said.

"Judicial reform begins with the need for an accountable Attorney General, ie with your resignation, Mr. Geshev," said Democratic Bulgaria co-chair Hristo Ivanov from the parliamentary rostrum. The National Assembly also included the Prosecutor General, whom the MP called for resigning.

Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, who yesterday made public accusations of violations of the law against Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov, appeared in the National Assembly today for the oath of the new government. On the sidelines, he attacked Rashkov again, who is expected to be elected to the regular cabinet in a few minutes.

The head of state Rumen Radev held a consultation with the seventh-largest party, "Vazrazhdane" (Revival), before handing a mandate to form a government.

Rumen Radev and Iliana Yotova received 66.70%, Anastas Gerdjikov and Nevyana Miteva - 31.82%. This is shown by the CEC data for processed 99.82% SEC protocols in the REC. 1,537,347 voters voted for Rumen Radev and Iliana Yotova. For Anastas Gerdjikov and Nevyana Miteva the votes are 733 307. With the option "I do not support anyone" voted 34 092 voters, or 1.48%.

BNT will organize and broadcast the only debate between presidential candidates Rumen Radev and Anastas Gerdjikov.

They will be in prime time on the public media program on Thursday at 8 p.m.

Fully in the tradition of social media, the debate will cover important topics for society, in which the main role is played by the presidential institution.
