Bulgaria Keeps Spending Money on Burgas-Alexandroupolis Project Company

Bulgaria's Finance Ministry will allocate BGN 100 000 from its own budget to a capital hike of the project company created for the implementation of the suspended Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline project.

Bulgaria's Council of Ministers approved the expenditure on April 8, according to a publication of Trud daily.

Bulgaria Police Arrest Car Driver Who Ran over Child and Fled

Police have detained the driver of a car which hit and killed a boy crossing a boulevard in the city of Burgas on Saturday and fled the site, 24 Chasa newspaper reported.

The 21-year old man, a resident of Burgas, was driving a BMW 320i car that ran over the eight-year old boy on Todor Aleksandrov boulevard.

US Blacklists Two 2012 Bulgaria Bombing Suspects

The United States has put on its terrorism blacklist two men identified as key suspects in the bombing of a bus at Bulgaria's Burgas in 2012 attributed to Hizbollah organisation.

The State Department said in a statement it has designated Meliad Farah and Hassan el-Hajj Hassan, both believed to be located in Lebanon, as "specially designated global terrorists".

Bulgarian Archaeologists Discover Ampoule Containing Holy Relic

Bulgarian archaeologists discovered an ampoule containing ashes from the grave of St. John the Apostle on the Foros peninsula near the city of Burgas.

According to the director of the Historical Museum in Burgas, Milen Nikolov, who showed the leaden ampoule on Wednesday, the sacred substance contained inside it was believed to have healing capacities.

Music Festival Spirit of Burgas Returns after 1-Year Break

Bulgaria's biggest music event, the Spirit of Burgas music festival, is back after a one-year break.

Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov announced Tuesday that the event would be held on August 7-8, 2015.

Nikolov, as cited by dnevnik.bg, informed that the Burgas Municipality would join efforts with the Balkan Entertainment Company to continue developing the festival.

Devnya Cement has won the Investor of the Year award for 2014 of the InvestBulgaria Agency.

The official award ceremony was held Wednesday at Sofia Hotel Balkan.

The organizers of the event handed out awards for the most significant investment projects implemented in 2014 in Bulgaria.
The annual award ceremony was held for the ninth consecutive year.
