Jailed Samsung heir appeals against conviction

Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jay Y. Lee has filed an appeal against the five-year jail term he was given for bribery and other charges through his lawyer, according to the Seoul Central District Court's website on Aug. 28.

The website did not give any details about the appeal,  which will be assigned to a higher court.

Asian giant's chief apologizes for shipping chaos

The chairman of South Korea's Hanjin Group on Oct. 4 apologized for the "cargo chaos" caused by the collapse of its shipping unit, but insisted the company could, and should, be salvaged.

Hanjin Shipping, the world's seventh largest shipping company, is seeking bankruptcy protection at home and in the U.S. after creditors rejected its latest plan to deal with a $5.37 billion debt.

Blackboard Athens is a project by volunteer group, Atenistas, aiming to gather the thoughts of both residents and tourists of Athens, with the intention to reveal what they choose to see: eventually the positive aspects of Athens, is what they see. It took 10 people on Saturday morning to create a Blackboard in order to collect these thoughts.
