Tycoons and major corporations in the U.S. are poised to break the 2017 fundraising record for a presidential inauguration fund as they seek favor with the incoming Trump administration.

Meta, owned by Mark Zuckerberg, donated $1 million to a fund supporting events for Donald Trump’s inauguration.

According to the Financial Times, this marks the first time Zuckerberg has made such a donation. In the past, Donald Trump had accused the company’s platforms of censoring right-wing voices and even threatened Zuckerberg with imprisonment.

Twitter co-founder and chief executive Jack Dorsey said on April 7 he was committing $1 billion of his personal fortune to coronavirus relief through his philanthropic fund.
