Turkey marks Children's Day, improvements needed
Children's rights in Turkey have not been improving over the years, with many continuing to lack education, a new report has said amid the marking of Universal Children's Day on Nov. 20.
Nov. 20 has been celebrated as Universal Children's Day since the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989, which was signed by Turkey in 1990 and enacted in 1995.

57,000 children work over 40 hours a week in Turkey: Report
Around 57,000 children work over 40 hours a week in Turkey, according to a new study by Bahçe?ehir University's Center for Economic and Social Research (BETAM).
The 2012 Children Workforce Survey, released on Jan. 3, said 292,000 children were in the workforce in the country, and 75 percent of them worked in family business without receiving any financial compensation.
Seven charged for trafficking on Crete
Seven men aged between 30 and 50 who were on board the cargo ship carrying hundreds of migrants that was towed to safety on Crete last week were charged with human trafficking on Saturday.
The seven men told a prosecutor in Lasithi that they were Syrian, like most of the people on board the Baris. The suspects are due to give their depositions on Monday.

Emma Hopkins Appointed British Ambassador To Bulgaria
Emma Kate Hopkins OBE has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria, announced the British Embassy in Sofia.
She will succeed Jonathan Allen, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
Hopkins will take up her appointment during May 2015.
