The Municipal Art Gallery of Athens in Metaxourgio (32 Mylerou) traces the artistic journey of Giannis Fokas, a key figure in contemporary Greek painting, from 1985 to today. Curated by art custodian Christoforos Marinos, it showcases Fokas' early depictions of Parisian urban life through mixed-media techniques such as collage and spray paint.

The vice president of the Hellenic Football Federation's (EPO) Central Refereeing Committee, Christoforos Zografos, was in the capital's Evangelismos Hospital on Friday after coming under attack outside his home in the central Athens district of Kolonos by two assailants who struck him on the head and arm with iron bars.
