Police on Corfu are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 68-year-old man, who was found dead in his bedroom by his wife.

Officers rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call from the victim's 11-year-old daughter.

A forensic examiner is also at the scene.

The report from Istanbul's Forensic Medicine Institute has determined that Narin Güran was killed by strangulation, pointing to bleeding in the anterior neck muscle and lower jaw, according to local media.

A 43-year-old woman who allegedly confessed to stabbing her brother to death after quarrelling over a glass of water was charged on Saturday with intensional manslaughter, causing dangerous bodily harm, and illegal carrying and use of a weapon.

A man was arrested Thursday morning in Hania, Crete, for beating his ex-wife and attempting to snatch their 4-year-old child outside a mayor's office.
