Ancient Corinth from above (drone video)

German police detained on Thursday two suspected jihadists in Berlin during a series of raids targeting possible Islamists.
The two men aged 28 and 46 are suspected of planning an attack, with some media reports suggesting that they were targeting the city of Dortmund.
Tourists will need to dig deeper into their pockets to visit iconic Greek sites
The Central Archaeological Council approved a proposal by the Ministry of Culture to increase admission prices for archaeological sites and museums in Greece as of January 1, 2016, based on each site’s numbers of visitors.
The highest entrance tickets will be at the iconic Parthenon at the Acropolis of Athens and the Knossos Palace on Crete.

Vandalism at Athenian Long Walls
Football supporters defaced the ancient Athenian Long Walls with graffiti. The walls, originally erected in the 5th century BC, were destroyed by Sparta in 403 BC and were rebuilt with the help of the Persians during the Corinthian War.

An international conference on prehistory, titled “Athens and Attica in Prehistory”, is to take place in Athens from May 27-31. Events are split among venues such as Athens University, the American School of Classical Studies and the Cycladic Art Museum.

Ancient site of Philippi unveils candidature for UNESCO list
The candidature of the ancient site of Philippi in eastern Macedonia, northern Greece, for UNESCO's World Heritage List was revealed at the B&M Theocharakis Foundation in Athens on Monday.
The international organization's list includes 17 Greek sites, among them the Acropolis of Athens. The country's last entry to the list was the Old Town of Corfu.
