Serbia facing temperature shock; From -1 to +15 in just a few days

According to the announcements of the Republic Hydro-meteorological Institute (RHMZ), temperatures below zero will remain for at least another two to three days.
"For the weekend and the beginning of next week, very cold weather with moderate and strong morning frosts and daily temperature below 0 degrees. From Tuesday, the temperature will rise," it is stated on the RHMZ website.

A Temperature Record in Targovishte

18.8 degrees Celsius was the temperature measured in the early afternoon in Targovishte. According to the head of the local Meteorological Station Krasimira Stoicheva, due to the calm weather, the expectations are that by the end of the day the temperature will increase by a few more tenths.

This will improve the temperature record of 2016, when 18.8 degrees were also measured.

Cold snap grips orange orchards in Peloponnese

Icicles hang off oranges in an orchard in Argolida, in the northern Peloponnese, on Saturday morning following a cold snap. After plunging to -4 degrees Celsius (24.8 Fahrenheit) in the Argos Plain on Friday night, temperatures rose slightly over the weekend. It was unclear whether a series of cold snaps will create problems for citrus fruit harvests in the region.

At Minus 62 Degrees in the Coldest Village, the Thermometer is Damaged

The new electronic thermometer in the Siberian village of Oymyakon, recognized as the coldest village in the world, was damaged yesterday when the temperature dropped to minus 62 degrees Celsius.

Local residents say the temperature has fallen even further - down to minus 71.2 degrees. It was not so cold in Oymyakon since 1933 when it was minus 61 degrees.
