Over 1000 Tons of Poor Quality Fuel Withdrawn from the Market for a Year
More than 1,000 tons of poor fuel have been withdrawn from the market this year after inspections by the State Agency for Metrology and Technical Surveillance. The imposed sanctions amount to over BGN 1 mln, bTV announced.
4.4% of the verified fuel during the year had quality deviations. More than 1,500 samples were collected in one third of the country's gas stations.

Wildfire damage in northern Greece estimated at 700 hectares
Authorities in the Sithonia peninsula in northern Greece estimate the damage from a wildfire that started on the outskirts of the seaside town of Sarti last Thursday and was brought under control on Sunday, at 700 hectares of what is mostly forestland.
Large forest fire raging in Sithonia
A large wildfire burned an area covered with pine trees on the Sithonia peninsula in northern Greece on Thursday, with strong winds hindering the efforts of the fire fighters.
A force of 60 firemen with 30 vehicles along with numerous volunteer fire fighters was in the area since early morning, assisted by four Canadair aircraft.

Fire Broke out at a School in Rousse
A fire broke out in the building of the Secondary School "Vazrazhdane" in Rousse.
The flames triggered the building's alarm system. A private security agency responsible for security at the school has arrived on the spot, and law enforcement officials were also called.

Wildfire put out in Kassandra forest
A wildfire in a pine forest near the Aghia Paraskevi area on the Kassandra leg of northern Greece's Halkidiki peninsula was brought under control on Saturday, the fire service said.
The fire led to the deployment of 40 firemen, two water-dropping aircraft and 10 fire engines, authorities said.

Death toll from Attica blaze rises to 94
In a new briefing on Saturday, Greece's fire service said the number of victims from the deadly wildfire in the outskirts of Attica on July 23-24 has risen to 94.
The fire service said 11 burn victims have died in hospital, while more than 30 people are receiving treatment.
Last week, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection has released a list of the names of 92 victims.
