Electoral law changes debate revisited

Discussions over potential amendments to Greece's electoral law came to the forefront during a meeting earlier in the month between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis, sources close to the talks confirmed.

According to these sources, the discussion, which occurred behind closed doors on December 4, highlighted differing perspectives on changes to a framework pivotal to the elections.

Though Prime Minister Mitsotakis had publicly stated days earlier that he would not push for electoral reforms, ruling New Democracy hinted that it might engage in such discussions if the initiative originated from the opposition.
