Stavros Xarchakos | Athens | February 8, 15, 22 & March 7, 14, 21, 28

With tickets having sold out on the nights announced to date, composer and conductor Stavros Xarchakos has added more to his run of shows focused on laiko composers at Gazarte in downtown Athens. Xarchakos will conduct a seven-member orchestra of top soloists who will also accompany him on vocals.

Greek pianist Lefki Karpodini pays tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven at the B&M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts & Music on Thursday, January 30. Dimitris Kalantzis Quintet | Athens | January 15

The Half Note in downtown Athens presents the Dimitris Kalantzis Quintet in a jazz tribute to Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. The quintet is made up of Dimitris Kalantzis on the piano, Takis Paterelis on saxophone, Dimitris Papadopoulos on trumpet, Alex-Drakos Ktistakis on drums and Giorgos Georgiadis on bass. Doors open at 8.30 p.m. and the concert starts an hour later.

Beethoven & Schubert | Athens | January 12

The Camerata - Friends of Music Orchestra Musicians, conducted by George Petrou, will be at the Christos Lambrakis Hall of the Athens Concert Hall to perform two pieces from 19th century Vienna, Ludwig van Beethoven's Seventh Symphony and Franz Schubert's Second Symphony, on Sunday, January 12. The musicians will play on vintage instruments from the baroque and classical eras.

Beethoven Songs | Athens | January 11

Soprano Lenia Safiropoulou and pianist Zoe Zeniodi will perform a selection of Beethoven's songs titled "Auf dem Hugel sitz ich spahend" ("On the hill sit I, gazing," a lyric from the composer's song cycle "An die ferne Geliebte," or "To the Distant Beloved") at the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall of the Athens Megaron Concert Hall on Saturday, January 11.
