Loyalty obligation in divorce processes no longer required

With the precedent decision made by the Supreme Court, spouses will no longer have to fulfill loyalty obligations toward each other during divorce proceedings.

Ali Kızılay, a lawyer, stated that in cases filed based on special and general reasons for divorce, especially in terms of the annexes of the divorce, the legal remedy of appeal was taken.

There were 12,374 babies born this February, 4,595 fewer than in January 2019, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) said in a Tuesday release. The number of deaths recorded this February was 22,110, by 4,726 less than in January 2019, but Romania's natural population growth stays in the negative, as the number of deaths was by 9,736 higher than live births.

Divorce made easier, but not skipping on child support

Couples seeking a divorce by mutual agreement are able to do so with less hassle thanks to a new law published in the Government Gazette.

Law 4509/2017 allows both parties to dissolve their marriage in person or via a legal representative through a notary, without having to appear in court before a judge.
