FYROM edges step closer to name change
The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) on Sunday moved closer to changing the country's name with 67 MPs in the 120-member Parliament voting for a second reading of an amendment to rename the Balkan state Republic of North Macedonia.
In total the government of Zoran Zaev submitted four proposed revisions to the country's constitution.

Deadline for report by Constitutional Revision Committee set for Jan. 15
The Greek Parliament decided on Wednesday that the Constitutional Revision Committee, the body responsible for examining the government's proposed amendments to the Constitution, will deliver its report on January 15.
Macedonia Govt Submits Constitutional Changes for 'Name' Deal
The government submitted the draft constitutional amendments to parliament on Friday, launching the second of the three phases in the process to adopt the 'name' agreement that would unblock the country's path towards NATO and EU membership.
Тhe first draft amendment envisages the addition of the adjective 'North' to the name of the country, as stipulated in the 'name' agreement.
Proposal to amend Constitution to be sent to Assembly soon
This will happen since it received a letter from the Secretariat of the Venice Commission stating that they agree with the constitutional amendments made by the Ministry of Justice.

The government in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) said on Wednesday it aims to submit the draft amendments revising its constitution "as soon as possible," but did not provide a specific date.
