Public domain debuts include last Sherlock Holmes work

Sherlock Holmes is finally free to the American public in 2023.

The long-running contested copyright dispute over Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's tales of a whipsmart detective, which has even ensnared Enola Holmes, will finally come to an end as the 1927 copyrights expiring Jan. 1 include Conan Doyle's last Sherlock Holmes work.

Rose Producers in Bulgaria Received nearly BGN 2 Million of State Aid

The rose growers received nearly BGN 2 million (BGN 1 921 520) under the "de minimis" state aid scheme, the State Fund for Agriculture announced on Tuesday.

Subsidies have been transferred to 852 farmers. Assistance is provided on an area to cover part of the cost of cultivating the oil-bearing rose.

Gov't to reconsider copyright levy, minister says

Greece's left-led government will reconsider a controversial decision to impose a one-off 2 percent levy on electronic appliances such as smartphones, tablets and computers, Digital Policy Minister Nikos Pappas has said.

The levy,  included in an amendment tabled in Parliament Tuesday, is in favor of copyright holders.
