Romania's Anticorruption Chief Resigns
The head of Romania's National Agency for Integrity (ANI) Horia Georgescu resigned on accusations of abuse of office during his tenure at the Central Commission for Compensations.
Georgescu handed his resignation, which is going to be registered at the Cabinet of the Romanian Senate President later on Tuesday, AGERPRES news agency reports.

Romanian Prosecutors Detain Anticorruption Chief
The chief of Romania's National Integrity Agency (ANI) Horia Georgescu has been taken into custody by prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) on Monday.
Georgescu was transferred to the detention facility of Bucharest prison after having been heard at the DNA office, AGERPRES news agency reports.

Annual report of anticorruption prosecutors: over 300 million euros confiscated
The values the Romanian anticorruption body (DNA) has seized in 2014 were over 303 million euros, which is over 13 times the annual budget of the National Anticorruption Directorate, said on Tuesday the DNA Chief Prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi when presenting this body's annual activity Report.

Anticorruption prosecutors search 13 locations in Bucharest City and Constanta, Cluj counties; public institution targeted

Lower House Legal Committee greenlights prosecution of Elena Udrea
The Chamber of Deputies Law Committee approved by a vote of 20 to one, one abstention and one canceled vote the request of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) for the start of the prosecution of deputy Elena Udrea in the Bute Boxing Gala case, Committee president Bogdan Ciuca announced.
