Sparkasse acquires issuer of Diners Club cards in Slovenia

Ljubljana – The Slovenian branch of Sparkasse bank has acquired Erste Card, which has exclusive rights for issuing Diners Club cards in Slovenia, from the Croatian Erste Card Club. The contract was signed on Friday and still needs regulatory approval.

Sparkasse and Erste Card have been cooperating for years in offering personal and business Diners Club cards to Sparkasse clients.

Mastercard launches campaign to expand card payment among SMEs

Ljubljana – Mastercard has launched an initiative with which it aims to encourage as many small businesses in Slovenia as possible to make a transition to digital payment methods. A total of one million euro will be available to selected participants in the next three years.

Golden Visa property purchases can now be paid for via cards abroad

An amendment to a bill for spurring investments that is currently being debated in Parliament seeks to include payments conducted from January 1, 2017 via credit or debit card in the Golden Visa program for granting residence permits to foreign nationals making real estate purchases worth at least 250,000 euros.
