Peloponnese sheep quarantined over BSE fears
A flock of 85 sheep in Gortynia, in the Peloponnese, has been placed in quarantine after the animals were found to be infected with bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), commonly known by its acronym BSE or as made cow disease, even though it can also be transmitted to sheep and goats.

Scientists closer to blood test for Alzheimer's
British scientists on Monday announced a major step forward in developing a blood test that could predict the onset of Alzheimer's, potentially helping the search for a cure.
Researchers identified blood proteins that appear in patients subsequently diagnosed with the brain-wasting disease, the most common form of dementia.
