Zakynthos man remanded over uncle's murder
A 43-year-old man from the Ionian island of Zakynthos is expected to be transferred to the Greek capital's high-security Korydallos Prison this week after answering to murder charges on Tuesday.
The man was remanded in pretrial custody after his testimony to a prosecutor, in which he denied bludgeoning his 63-year-old uncle to death on December 30.

No liability for state officials after a decade
The government is seeking to bring the statute of limitations for liability in cases of mismanagement of state money down to 10 years, according to sources from both the Justice Ministry and the State Audit Council. That means that after a decade, it will no longer be possible to bring charges against a public sector official suspected of mismanaging state funds.

Greek businessman arrested on Dutch warrant to be released on bail
A businessman arrested last week on a Dutch arrest warrant in Glyfada is expected to be released Wednesday on bail of 100,000 euros.
Ioannis Karagiorgis, who is wanted by Dutch authorities for alleged fraud, forgery and other financial crimes, will have to appear at a local police station weekly and will not be allowed to leave the country.
Trial for murder of 4-year-old girl suspended
The trial of a father accused of the murder of his 4-year-old daughter in central Athens last year was suspended Wednesday after the lawyer of a second defendant, also facing criminal charges, withdrew from the case.

Suspected spy in 30-day custody
BELGRADE - The High Court in Belgrade has put a man suspected of spying for Croatia in 30-day custody.
After questioning the suspect on Sunday, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation against him and proposed placing him in custody to prevent him from escaping, witness tampering, repeating the offence or unsettling the public.

Court orders espionage suspect held in custody
The Higher Court in Belgrade has ordered C.C., a man suspected of spying for Croatia, held in custody for up to 30 days.
Earlier on Sunday, the Prosecution questioned the suspect and decided to launch an investigation against him, asking at the same time the court to keep him in custody as a flight risk.
