Google also immerses us in a festive atmosphere by changing the logo of its interactive animation homepage - a pair of adorable aliens who exchange messages and show us that love is "out of this world."

This has become a tradition of the tech giant - marking important dates and anniversaries with the so-called Doodle.

Several bronze statuettes depicting ancient deities Dionysus, Eros, and Cupid are among the most intriguing artifacts discovered during the 2017 archaeological excavations of the Ancient Roman city of Serdica in the downtown of today's Bulgarian capital Sofia.

Love is one of the most common themes in Greek mythology and this is not at all surprising, given the fact that the Ancient Greeks worshipped not one, but two deities linked with this powerful feeling: Eros (Cupid) and his mother Aphrodite.
