December 2015–February 2016 Cizre curfew

A 5-year-old child has died after being struck by an armored police vehicle as he was playing on a street in the Cizre district of the southeastern province of Şırnak. 
Hakan Sarak was playing on the street when the armored police vehicle hit him, heavily wounding him. 

Turkey's main opposition party has urged for food and accommodation to be given for those whose homes were destroyed in clashes between Turkish security forces and militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the country's southeastern town of Cizre.

As the 59-day military operation against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in Cizre came to an end, the General Staff announced on Feb. 12 that a total of 619 militants were killed in the town, located in the southeastern province of ??rnak.

Ankara has been deliberately obscuring events going on in the restive southeastern district of Cizre, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Selahattin Demirta? has said, following reports that scores of civilians were killed in an operation against militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).  

Nine civilians, four members of security forces and dozens of outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants have been killed in two towns over two days in the latest spate of violence in Southeast Anatolia.

The United Nations' top human rights official called on Turkish authorities on Feb. 1 to investigate the shooting of a committee of civilians on Jan. 20 in the Cizre district of southeastern ??rnak province.
