Main opposition social democratic Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal Kılılçdaroğlu on Jan. 24 paid a visit to the monument in memory of journalist Uğur Mumcu on the 24th anniversary of the latter's assassination. The murder still remains unsolved, though it had been claimed by two separate organizations: The Islamic Movement and Kurdish Hezbollah.

The Berlin Provocation

Twelve people were killed in a Christmas market in Berlin on Monday, mown down by a terrorist in a big truck. Elsewhere in Germany, if it was an average day, another ten people were killed in or by motor vehicles. They are all equally dead; the only difference is the motivation of the man in the truck.

Terror Map Reveals Unresolved Cases in Balkans

Global Terrorist Data, GTD, a map presenting all the terrorist attacks that took place in Europe between 1970 and 2015, reveals the number of attacks in Balkan countries and those that were never resolved.

The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism, START, at the University of Maryland, drew up the GTD using a wide definition of terrorism.

Montenegro Set to Sign Anti-Terror Protocol

Montenegro this week will sign the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe's Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, which parliament will then adopt in the following months.

The document obliges Montenegro to introduce new measures to prosecute and punish terrorism, especially in the terms of citizens planning to travel abroad to join extremist groups.
