Gobi: The Desert | Athens | April 12-20
Photographer Achilleas Alexandrakis presents "Gobi: The Desert," a collection capturing the immensity, awe and admiration evoked by the vast, arid region in northern China and southern Mongolia. Hosted at the Melanithros Art Space (4 Zappa, melanithros.gr), Alexandrakis' images transport the viewer through his vivid artistic vision. Entrance to the exhibition is free.

Analysing data collected since 1923, a research team examined the different factors that contributed to changes in rainfall in the Sahara region.

Scientists discover China’s Gobi Desert is feeding California’s Yosemite Park!
Climite scientists from the US have discovered that dust from as far away as China’s Gobi Desert is carried by the global jet stream and deposited in California’s Yosemite National Park where its trees feed off of microscopic material in the dust containing nutrients.
