Kore torso sculpture to be displayed at Ankara museum

A "Kore torso" — a statue body without the head and arms — that was auctioned in the U.K. and returned to Türkiye after being proven smuggled from the ancient city of Miletus in the western province of Aydın's Didim district, will soon be exhibited at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara.

Resort town Bodrum eyes 1 mln foreign visitors this year

Some 1 million foreign tourists are expected to visit the popular resort town of Bodrum in the western province of Muğla, according to Ömer Faruk Dengiz, the head of the local hoteliers' association (BODER).

Since the start of the year, 500,000 foreign holidaymakers have arrived in the town by plane, and this figure will further rise to 800,000 by the end of 2022, Dengiz said.

Columns of 2,300-year-old temple to be restored

A restoration and repair work has been launched to strengthen the three columns with a length of 20 meters in the Temple of Apollo, located in Turkey's Aegean province of Aydın's Didim district.

The excavation and restoration work around the historical marvel, which is shown as one of the best-preserved temples in Anatolia, was suspended for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
