Some 1 million foreign tourists are expected to visit the popular resort town of Bodrum in the western province of Muğla, according to Ömer Faruk Dengiz, the head of the local hoteliers' association (BODER).
Since the start of the year, 500,000 foreign holidaymakers have arrived in the town by plane, and this figure will further rise to 800,000 by the end of 2022, Dengiz said.

Over 160 irregular migrants held across Turkey
A total of 162 irregular migrants were held across Turkey on Aug. 25, according to security sources.

In the eastern provinces of Van and Kars, security forces rounded up 66 migrants, including 40 Afghan nationals.
Four suspects were arrested in Van on charges of human smuggling.

Columns of 2,300-year-old temple to be restored
A restoration and repair work has been launched to strengthen the three columns with a length of 20 meters in the Temple of Apollo, located in Turkey's Aegean province of Aydın's Didim district.
The excavation and restoration work around the historical marvel, which is shown as one of the best-preserved temples in Anatolia, was suspended for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
