'Dahomey' doc on looted African art wins Berlin film fest

"Dahomey", a documentary by Franco-Senegalese director Mati Diop probing the thorny issues surrounding Europe's return of looted antiquities to Africa, won the Berlin film festival's top prize on Feb. 23.

Classic film scenes recreated in Africa

Senegalese photographer Omar Victor Diop and French-American Antoine Tempé decided to recreate classic film scenes as if they were shot in Africa.

“Cinema is probably the form of art that is the most universal, as it transcends all barriers, be they geographic, cultural, or racial,” said the two photographers.
