Around 5,000 hectares of arable land flooded
BELGRADE - Around 5,000 hectares of agricultural land in Serbia have been fully or partially flooded, but the torrential floods should leave no long-term consequences on the land affected, Serbia's Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamocic has said.
The exact information and the extent of damage to agriculture will become known in the coming days, Glamocic told the RTS on Tuesday.

Health authorities on alert over MERS virus
A 69-year-old Greek man who has been in the intensive-care unit of Athenss Sotiria hospital since he tested positive for the potentially fatal MERS virus on his arrival in the Greek capital from Saudi Arabia last week was in a critical but stable condition on Tuesday night, doctors said, as health authorities remained on high alert to stop the virus from spreading.

BELGRADE - Water levels in most flood affected areas in Serbia are stagnating or declining, except in the South Morava river basin, south Serbia, while other parts of the country are under threat from rockfalls and mudslides following the floods.
Floods Kill Four in Southern Romania
Heavy rain, causing rivers to overflow, has killed four people, including a child, in the Teleorman county of southern Romania, according to the authorities. Two other people are still missing and hundrends have also been evacuated because their homes flooded.

Two moderate earthquakes hit region
BELGRADE -- A 4.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Slovenia at 10:48 CET on Tuesday, and was, according to reports, also felt in neighboring Croatia.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was at the depth of 12.4 kilometers, located some 52 kilometers southwest of the capital Ljubljana.

South Korean Ferry Death Toll at 108
The death toll from the sunken South Korean ferry has rose to 108 on the sixth day of the search operations.
Dozens of bodies were retrieved over the last two days, but 190 remain missing, Euronews reported. Many of the victims were children, travelling on a school trip to the resort island Jeju.

Three people drowned on Monday in a flooding in Southern Romania, with a 13-year-old boy among them.
Two more have been reported missing after heavy rainfall caused rivers to swell, according to Bulgaria's public broadcaster BNT.
Traffic is disrupted on a few roads after the flooding caused landslides.
