Bill foresees joint custody of children
A bill reforming family law for the first time in about 40 years will be introduced in Parliament in the coming days, introducing joint custody of children.
The new legislation stipulates that the child can spend one-third of the time with the parent they don't live with, instead of just the occasional weekend or holiday provided for currently.

‘Divorce pandemic’ may lie ahead after quarantine days
As people across the world have to live under lockdown to stem the coronavirus pandemic, prolonged isolation could cause many relationships to falter, according to experts on mental health and legal issues.
"A divorce pandemic may be around the corner," Yudum Söylemez, a lecturer of psychology at Istanbul's Bilgi University, told Anadolu Agency.

The natural growth rate in Romania continued to be negative in April, 2019, to - 8,560 persons, as against -6,595 persons in the same month of 2018, according to data released on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). The number of live births was lower by 2,282, and the number of deaths by 317.
Fewer marriages, more divorces in Turkey in 2018
The number of couples who got married in Turkey decreased by 2.9 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year, while the number of those who divorced increased by 10.9 percent since 2017, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on March 1.
