Probe launched into deadly accidents involving armored police vehicles in Turkey's southeast

Administrative and legal investigations have been launched into two traffic accidents involving armored police vehicles that led to the deaths of seven civilians in the Lice district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır. 

The Diyarbakır Governor's Office stated that an inspector has asked to be assigned to the case from the Interior Ministry, Doğan News Agency reported. 

Prosecutor submits summary of proceedings for opposition HDP spokesperson

A public prosecutor in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır submitted a summary of proceedings for Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) spokesman Osman Baydemir on June 10. 

If the parliament speaker lifts Sanlıurfa Deputy Baydemir's immunity, he will be eligible to face trial, and a jail sentence of up to two years. 

Over 2 tons of hashish seized in Turkey's southeast

More than two tons of hashish have been seized during an operation in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır province, the governor's office said in a statement on June 9, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
 
According to the statement, the operation in the province started on May 28 with the participation of more than 10,000 security personnel. 

Opposition HDP spokesperson Baydemir briefly detained in Turkey's Diyarbakır

Police on June 2 briefly detained Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) spokesperson Osman Baydemir in the southeastern Turkish province of Diyarbakır as part of an ongoing case in which he is accused of "insulting public servants," Doğan News Ageny has reported.
