Victims of Adana dormitory fire subjected to violence: Report

The students at a girls' dormitory in which a fire killed 12 people on Nov. 29 in Adana were subjected to violence and forced to do cleaning in the facility, according a report prepared by the Social Rights Association (SHD). 

The association prepared a report about the deadly dormitory fire after interviewing the parents of eight children who were killed in the blaze.

Female students protest dark roads leading to dorms with flash lamps in Turkey's north

A group of female students at Karadeniz Technical University have protested the dark roads leading to their dormitories using flash lamps in the Black Sea province of Trabzon. 

The students said the lighting of the road was not sufficient enough and demanded that authorities place streetlights on the road.

Girls' dorm residents in Turkey's Zonguldak protest amid harrassment, kidnapping of students

Some 250 residents of a public girls' dormitory in the Kozlu district of the northern Turkish province of Zonguldak staged a protest in front of their building on the night of Oct. 10, saying the administration cannot provide their security as two student residents were kidnapped over the last four days.
