Students' project awarded in US after rejection by Turkish science body
A science project prepared by Turkish high school students has received a prestigious award in the U.S. after being rejected by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), Doğan News Agency has reported.
106 migrants saved off western Turkey
Turkish security forces have rescued 106 migrants and refugees caught in a storm in two boats in the Aegean Sea off the southwestern province of Mu?la and Antalya, the state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Police said they rescued 55 migrants as they were attempting to reach the Greek island of Kos from Mu?la's Bodrum district on the night of Feb. 15.

Migrants Start Walking from Turkey's Edirne to Border with Greece
Thousands of migrants have set off on foot to the border with Greece after spending the past three days in makeshift camps in the fileds near the Turkish city of Edirne, Bulgaria's bTV station reported on Friday.
Police and gendarmerie forces later halted their advance. The migrants are now closer to Pazarkuke border crossing with Greece.

Turkey to Introduce Paid Disinfection System at Bulgaria’s Checkpoints
Turkish border authorities will introduce a disinfection system for vehicles at the border crossings with Bulgaria - Kapitan Andreevo, Kapikule, Hamzabeyli / Lesovo and Derekoy / Malko Tarnovo.
Vehicles entering Turkey from Bulgaria will pass through a special system for disinfecting, the governor of the border town of Edirne, Dursun Ali Sahin, announced at a press conference.
Turkish man searching for future wife via poster in Sivas
A man has begun searching for a bride by hanging placards on the walls of the streets in the Central Anatolian province of Sivas.
Dursun Düzen put a picture of himself, in which he is standing in a grey suit, on a poster and hung it around the city walls. âGroom candidate Dursun Düzenâ is written above his photo, with the poster also including his mobile phone number.
Three workers die in labor accident in Manisa
One engineer and two technicians died in a labor accident in the western province of Manisa on June 26.
The accident occurred during maintenance work at a waste water pumping facility in a leather factory complex inside an industrial zone.

Edirne clashes ‘payoff between Russian, Georgian and Azeri mafias’
The gunfight that took place in the western Turkish province of Edirne, which claimed the life of a policeman, was probably an extension of clashes between Russian, Georgian and Azeri mafias, Governor Dursun Ali Åahin has said.
