‘Golden Triangle’ may become new attraction for Chinese tourists

Three Turkish provinces, also known as the "Golden Triangle" of Upper Mesopotamia, may become the new favorite destination of Chinese tourists, according to hoteliers and tour operators.

The southeastern provinces of Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa and Mardin are home to well-known historical and ancient sites, including the famous Göbeklitepe.

Brothers face felony charges for stealing railway equipment

Two brothers aged 43 and 49 years old, respectively, face criminal charges, including for endangering public safety, after allegedly stealing a railroad tie.

The metal tie was stolen from a Hellenic Railways (OSE) storage facility on the Veria-Edessa line in northern Greece and found in the trunk of the brothers' car, the Athens-Macedonian News Agency reported on Thursday.

Police find four children, three adults hidden in truck in northern Greece

Police in northern Greece say they found seven migrants — four of them children — hidden in a furniture truck whose driver allegedly had been paid to take them from Turkey to Germany.
The police force in Thessaloniki said the people on the truck were from Syria and Iraq, and the driver allegedly received 1,500 euros ($1,700) for each of the seven passengers.

Rock tombs of Turkey's Şanlıurfa to open to tourism

Rock tombs nearly 2,000 years old, which have been unearthed in caves in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa, are to be opened to tourists after excavations are completed. 

The historical city of Şanlıurfa, home to myriad civilizations in its millennia-old history, is a leading spot for faith and culture tourism in Turkey.
