Matura results slightly worse than last year
Ljubljana – A total of 5,194 final-year secondary school students or some 95% passed the national school-leaving exam, known as the matura exam, which is close to last year’s 97%. Eighteen students scored all points and three students passed the international matura without losing a single point.

National school-leaving exam results best in three years
Ljubljana – A total of 5,461 final-year secondary school students or some 97% passed the national school-leaving exam, known as the matura exam, up from 94% last year and 95% in the pre-distance learning year of 2019. All points in the exam were scored by 15 students, whereas 10 Slovenian students bagged all points in the international matura.
Orders received for over 2,600 jabs for matura students, staff
Ljubljana – The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) has received an order for 2,625 shots of Corona-19 vaccine for final-year secondary school students taking the matura exam this year and the staff involved, while others will receive the leftover shots. Almost 17,000 students will take the school-leaving exam this year. The vaccination is voluntary.
Vaccination of matura students to start next Friday
Ljubljana – Final-year secondary school pupils will have a chance to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as early as next Friday ahead of the school-leaving examinations due to begin in May under an upgraded national vaccination strategy adopted by the government on Thursday.
