A possible hostage incident following last night’s events in Amsterdam and the attacks on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans is being investigated by the Amsterdam Police, according to a morning briefing and just before a scheduled press conference.

Concerns over a wider conflict in the Middle East have prompted international airlines to suspend flights to the region or avoid affected airspace.  

Aegean Airlines has canceled flights to and from Beirut until October 31 and to and from Tel Aviv until October 6.  

Air Algerie has suspended flights to and from Lebanon until further notice.  

"Bulgaria Air" continues its operations between Sofia and Tel Aviv amidst the heightened tensions in the Middle East, ensuring safe travel for its passengers as part of its mission as a national carrier. The airline's press center announced that flights will continue with adjusted schedules from August 9 to 13, 2024, following official recommendations from Israeli airport authorities.

TEL AVIV - Flights between Serbia and Israel will resume next Friday, with Israeli airline Arkia to fly to Belgrade twice a week, Serbia's Honorary Consul to Israel Aleksandar Nikolic said on Friday.

A plane by Israeli airline El Al, flying from the United States to Israel, made an emergency landing at an airport in Canada due to smoke in the engine, passengers were not injured, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the airline, the plane landed at the airport in the Canadian city of Halifax.

Boeing plane of the Israeli airline El Al landed at Sofia Airport. There is no evidence of injured passengers, NOVA reported.

The flight was from Sofia to Tel Aviv. It only took 41 minutes to return to Sofia Airport.

No Greek airline has Boeing 737 Max aircraft models in its fleet, the country's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said in a press release on Wednesday.
